On the weekend, someone told my mum that I should “hang on to that boy, he’s a good one.” 

Mum relayed this to me and laughing, said, “it’s not like we have a choice if we hang on to a man or not!”

I yelled at her and said that we do, that it’s the men in our lives who should be afraid that we might choose not to hang on to them. 

…Of course, I do really want to keep him. But if he chooses to leave then he’s obviously not the right person for me and I think that we all deserve someone who is just right.
